Brownsburg High 2017 Quarterback Hunter Johnson was very thrilled by his latest offer extended by Notre Dame. The young prospect has been on the Irish’s radar since last year. Johnson established a relationship with the staff and when Coach Mike Sanford was hired as the new offensive cordinator, the two immediatley connected. “I felt an instant connection to Coach Sanford” said Johnson. “I have a lot of respect for him.” Sanford’s proven track record with quarterbacks is a big plus for Johnson.
The gunslinger visited campus last week and has plans to make a return visit during Spring ball. Tradition and academics make the Irish a serious option for Johnson’s services. “Notre Dame is a special place and I look forward to getting back up there and talking with Head Coach Brian Kelly” Johnson said.
Johnson admitted the offer from the Irish puts them in his top 3 choices for a school. He said “Tough to say which are my exact top 3. I just know Notre Dame is up there.”
The INPrep50 quarterback will be making Spring visits to Notre Dame, Tennessee, Penn State and Northwestern. All our campuses he’s visited often. He has yet to set his summer schedule or a timeline for a commitment.
