Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita filed a lawsuit against the Indiana High School Athletic Association on September 24, targeting a board policy that reserves two of the organization’s 19 board seats for individuals described in its by-laws as “an individual other than a white male or female.” The AG’s office is calling the policy a “racially discriminatory board quota” and is seeking a permanent injunction to have it removed. The IHSAA declined to change the policy when warned by the state in April and again in June. The organization had not issued a public comment at the time of the initial report.
