Indianapolis Ben Davis #INPrep50 RB Chris Evans received an offer from Michigan State Head Coach Mark Dantonio on Wednesday. Evans, has made the drive to East Lansing on several occasions to visit the campus and to imagine what it’d be like as a student-athlete for the Spartans.  The verbal offer he received from Michigan State could likely lead to a reality for Evans. With this offer, the Spartans are now in the lead for Evans, who also holds offers from Indiana, Illinois, and several MAC schools. Evans said “I like the way the use the running backs, although I was offered as an ATH.”

There is still a chance for in-state school Indiana to land Evans, as he will continue to build a relationship with the Hoosiers. Evans has made several trips to Bloomington and will likely make a few more before deciding on a school. Another program Evans mentioned in the running would be Illinois. A trip to East Lansing for an unofficial visit on March 28th could open Evans’ eyes even more, now that playing for the Spartans can be his reality.

Evans noted that he’d still like to receive an offer from Notre Dame, Michigan and Ohio State, but even then it may not be enough to knock the Spartans out of the lead.  When asked if that would be the case, Evans replied “I don’t know.”
