The 2026 Indiana high school volleyball season wasted little time producing standout performances. From high-volume attackers and efficient finishers to setters controlling the offense and defensive specialists keeping points alive, opening weekend offered an early look at several players who could make plenty of noise this fall. With teams across the state taking the floor on August 15—including several navigating tournament-style schedules and multiple matches in one day—we identified 10 individual performances that immediately got our attention as the new season got underway.

Additional performances worth mentioning
Emily Williams, Franklin Central surpassed the 2,000-career assist milestone in the Flashes’ season opener, reaching the mark during a 3–1 loss to No. 4 Roncalli.
Liv Schiffli, Hamilton Heights delivered an impressive all-around performance, impacting the match in virtually every phase. Schiffli totaled 26 kills at a .302 hitting percentage, averaging 3.71 kills per set, while also contributing 23 digs (3.29/set). From the service line, she posted a 1.97 serve rating with five aces, added a 2.10 serve-receive rating, and chipped in four assists (0.57/set). Her combination of offensive production, efficiency, serve receive and back-row defense makes her one of the more complete performances from the Aug. 15 slate.
Kennedy Armstrong, New Palestine recorded a 23-assist, 10-dig double-double in the Dragons’ five-set victory over Scecina, providing production both as a facilitator and defensively.
Adelynn Crispin, New Palestine added another double-double for the Dragons with 11 kills and 10 digs, giving New Palestine valuable two-way production in the five-set win.
