The highly anticipated Sectional 2 championship game brought excitement and intensity as the 8-2 Fort Wayne Snider Panthers traveled to face off against the 8-2 Carroll (Fort Wayne) Chargers. Both teams, boasting identical records, were set for an electrifying showdown with a sectional title on the line.

The Chargers struck first, with Iowa commit and junior quarterback Jimmy Sullivan connecting on a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jaidon VanPelt, giving Carroll an early lead in the first quarter. Sullivan and VanPelt continued their dynamic performance into the second quarter, where they connected again, this time for a 6-yard touchdown that extended Carroll’s lead to 14-0.

The Snider Panthers, however, weren’t ready to go down without a fight. In the third quarter, quarterback Aaron Vance found his rhythm, delivering a beautiful 33-yard touchdown pass to Keaton Robinson, putting Snider on the board and cutting Carroll’s lead to 14-7.

With momentum building, Snider looked to close the gap further in the fourth quarter. Kicker Mang Tung drilled a 29-yard field goal, narrowing the Chargers’ lead to just four points. But Carroll responded with a powerful drive that culminated in an 18-yard touchdown run by William Jeffries, giving the Chargers a comfortable 21-10 lead that they would maintain until the end.

Carroll’s offensive leaders were instrumental in their victory. VanPelt finished the game with 3 receptions for 61 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sullivan completed 5 of his 13 passes for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns, adding 42 yards on 10 carries. Jeffries powered the Chargers’ ground game with 19 carries for 114 yards and a touchdown.

The Chargers now look forward to advancing further in the postseason, backed by an impressive sectional victory and strong individual performances that showcased their resilience and drive.
