Indianapolis natives Chris Evans and Gerrid Doaks went head-to-head in Sunday’s preseason matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins. The Lawrence Central grad and rookie for the Dolphins had quite a few opportunities with his 16 rushes on Sunday. Reaching the endzone twice to go along with his 56 yards rushing.

It was the versatility of Bengals’ rookie Chris Evans that was the highlight for his performance. Lined up at receiver, As he did often at Ben Davis high school, Evans displayed his ability to run routes and make tough catches like a wideout. A 29-yard touchdown reception for Evans gives the Bengals a dual-threat on offense moving forward.

Doaks and the Dolphins came away with the win, 29-26. It was a great day for Indiana as we looking forward to many more matchups between two of Indy’s finest!
