Avon high school football talent Bryant Fitzgerald is a Hoosier. Not because of his recent commitment, but rather being a Hoosier, literally. Him staying close to home, family and the fact he’s been a lifelong Hoosier fan, the commitment to play college football at Indiana University was a natural choice. “I’ve been a Hoosier fan all my life” said Fitzgerald.
Since he was a incoming freshman at Avon high school, Fitzgerald has camped with his team at Indiana. He’s very comfortable with the staff and campus. Hoosiers head coach Kevin Wilson’s staff began to recruit Fitzgerald as a sophomore. Indiana and their players made Fitzgerald feel at home and treated him like family.
Bryant Fitzgerald is a two-way star for his Avon Orioles football team. He help lead them to a semi-state finals game, eventually losing to the 6A state champion Center Grove in multiple overtime periods. The Hoosiers are recruiting him to play “Bandit” in their new scheme with the hire of former Indianapolis resident and coach in Tom Allen. Fitzgerald says his commitment to Indiana a “hard” one. “This program is on the rise and I want to be apart of it. This is my home.”
