Indiana head football coach Kevin Wilson made sure to emphasis the importance of his contract extension and recruiting. Specifically, recruiting inside the state and securing those athletes. With only one in-state commitment in the 2016 class, Wilson feels the extension validates the universities commitment to continue building the program and should entice in-state athletes.

“There’s a lot of good football players in the state and we want those,” Wilson said, “and I think this contract gives us a chance. It’s best to recruit locally, because the greatest thing of playing games is when mom and dad are sitting in the stands and the kid’s got to look at his mom as well as his coach after the game. You want those local kids.”
