RB Titus McCory, Center Grove

Class: 2017

Number: 30

Exposure: Sophomore Hudl film, 1 game in-person

Strengths: Home-run threat  with outstanding speed, vision, and effort – is a decisive ballcarrier who wastes no time getting vertical and makes good decisions in space. Impact player – can take over games and is consistently a player that opponents have to account for. Has vision; exhibits patience to follow blocks but can also create on his own, takes what is given to him. Runs with excellent burst and agility – can sit and slash in the hole. Exhibits good initial quickness and burst through the hole and breakaway at the second level. Very elusive – is loose-hipped with great change-of-direction; makes defenders miss in space. Makes acrobatic catches; primarily runs but has shown that he can be a very capable receiver out of the backfield. Effort and toughness really shine – refuses to go down on first contact and likes to hit people. Has a high ceiling; comes from a winning program. Has experience as a two-year varsity starter.

Weaknesses: Operates out of the Wing-T and has several runs blocked for him, but still exhibits all the qualities necessary to compete at a high level. Lacks bulk; needs to get bigger in both upper and lower body, but has time and room to grow. Didn’t show any plays in pass protection.

Summary: Titus flashes the potential to play and excel in Division I-level college football. The next two years will be fun to watch for him. His production should rise as a junior, and 2015 should be a breakout season for him. His vision, effort, and speed are all qualities that will serve him well in the future.
