Lawrence Central 2015 LB Darrin Kirkland Jr is nearing 30 reported college football scholarship offers, but the one he received on Sunday means something different. New Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong extended an offer to the highly touted LB, for the second time. See when Charlie was the Head Coach at Louisville he was one of the first to offer Kirkland. Although Strong left the Cards for the bright lights of Austin Texas, Darrin tells us he maintained contact with Coach Strong.
Darrin hasn’t set a date to visit the Longhorns’ campus, but says that can be arranged. “I feel great about this offer. My first Big XII offer” said Kirkland. The INPrep50 LB is set to announce his commitment on May 30th.
