Indiana Preps | Girls Flag Football — Team of the Week
Week of September 21–27

Terre Haute South keeps stacking wins.

The Braves rolled through two opponents Saturday — opening with a 50-0 shutout of Silver Creek before closing the day with a 26-14 win over Floyd Central in a matchup of two of Indiana’s top girls flag football programs. South’s offense put up 76 points across the two games, but the win over Floyd Central was the statement.

Za’Nariae White was the engine. The senior threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns while adding 95 rushing yards and another score on six carries — a two-phase performance that put Floyd Central’s defense in an impossible position from the opening possession. Ashaya Cooper finished with 51 receiving yards and a touchdown. Shaundrea Sanders and Maiya Childs also found the end zone.

The defense was just as disruptive. Carly Ross recorded two interceptions, while Sanders and Jazmine Topete added picks of their own — South repeatedly creating extra possessions against a Floyd Central program that entered the matchup as one of Indiana’s better undefeated teams.

A note on the record: a 32-0 result against Terre Haute North that currently appears on MaxPreps was an exhibition and did not count toward South’s varsity record. Several of the Braves’ top varsity players did not dress for the game. On the varsity field, the résumé remains clean.

Two games. Two wins. A 76-14 combined scoring margin. A shutout. A quality win over a top-ten program.
