On a cold, soaking-wet night in Central Indiana, Brownsburg looked completely unfazed. Rain poured sideways, the field turned slick, and visibility dipped — but none of it slowed the reigning state champions. The Bulldogs played like a team that’s been here before, powering past Warren Central in a 31–0 shutout to move one win away from defending their 6A crown. Next stop: a state championship showdown with Westfield.
The opening moments were a slog. Three straight punts from both sides showcased the conditions more than anything else. But with 5:05 left in the first, Brownsburg finally broke the ice with a 21-yard field goal — and that was the spark.
From there, the Bulldogs found their rhythm.
Senior quarterback Oscar Frye commanded a poised, methodical drive on the next possession, handing off to Jobe, who punched in a 9-yard touchdown to make it 10–0. Warren Central answered with yet another three-and-out, and Brownsburg wasted no time: Jobe ripped off a 75-yard sprint to put the Bulldogs back in the red zone.
The first quarter closed with Brownsburg in control. Warren Central, meanwhile, couldn’t get anything going — and that theme continued.
The Warriors started the second quarter with the ball but promptly punted again. By halftime, they had crossed midfield only once and mustered just 17 total yards.
Frye struck again, dropping a beauty to Sharpe, and the Bulldogs converted it into points when Sharpe scored on a sweep to push the lead to 17–0. Jobe added another touchdown, this time from six yards out, putting Brownsburg up 24–0.
Warren finally forced a punt late in the half, but disaster followed — a muffed return gave Brownsburg the ball inside the 10. The Bulldogs came up empty on that trip, but it didn’t matter. The tone of the night had already been set.
The third quarter played out much like the first half: Brownsburg’s defense suffocating everything Warren attempted. A strong stop by Jamon Cole halted the Warriors’ only hint of momentum.
Then came the dagger.
After a Brownsburg interception, Tez Virgil ripped off a big run to set up another red-zone opportunity. This time Brady Lewis finished it, blasting in from 25 yards out to stretch the lead to 31–0.
From the first whistle to the last, Brownsburg was in complete command — disciplined, physical, and relentless. Total domination in every phase.
And now, the Bulldogs are 48 minutes away from going back-to-back.
Kickoff for the 6A state championship vs. Westfield is set for next Saturday at 7:00 PM. Brownsburg looks ready.
