Coming into Saturday nights match up between Fort Wayne Wayne and Lawrence North, each team had similar routes before meeting each other.
Led by Junior guard Azavier “Stink” Robinson the Lawrence North squad sat at 3-0 in preparation for the annual event.
At 3-1, Fort Wayne Wayne played their third game in four nights, a task not many should have to do.
To start the game, the fatigue caught up to the Generals in the first quarter as Lawrence North got out to a 5-0 lead before ending the quarter up 19-13.
In the second quarter is when the Generals started waking up. Out scoring their foes 20-12, the Wayne squad took their first lead and went into halftime up 33-31.
Down by two entering the second half, Lawrence North quickly got to work with a 10-0 run to get out to a 41-33 lead.
In a game of runs, Fort Wayne Wayne would go on a 10-2 run of their own to tie things up late in the third quarter.
Senior wing Myles Baker would hit his third three of the night to put the control back in possession of the Wildcats.
Entering the final stanza, Lawrence North got out to a comfortable double digit lead thanks to fast break points from Robinson and senior guard Kobi Bowles.
Robinson and Luke end the night with 24 points and seven rebounds as Bowles and Baker chipped in 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Wayne was led by Jevon Lewis with 16 points as Chase Barnes and HJ Dillard chipped in 15 and 10, respectively.
Active in the passing lanes, the Wildcats ended the night with 11 steals en route to a 72-51 victory over the Generals.
On top of the well known talent of Robinson, Bowles and Baker. Sophomore forward Brennan Miller shined in the fourth quarter of the game where the Wildcats gave up just four points in the period to push them to victory.
Securing their 4th win of the season while remaining perfect, this Lawrence North squad showed they are primed for another deep tournament run.
