The 2021 regular season is here, and so begins another year of our coverage of the SWIN (Southwestern Indiana) Game Of The Week.  We have a huge Week 1 matchup set to kick things off, as the Columbus North Bulldogs travel to Fort Branch to take on the Gibson Southern Titans.  

Columbus North (6-3 in 2020, T-16th in 2021 Class 6A Preseason Poll) is led by Coach Tim Bless.  Players to watch for the ‘Dogs include Senior QB Luke Hammons, Senior OL Neal Likens, Senior DB Jaxson Scruggs, and Junior DL Savion Miles.

The host Titans (7-4 in 2020, # 4 AP / # 3 Coaches in 2021 Class 3A Preseason Polls), under Coach Nick Hart, have established themselves as a powerhouse program in SWIN, and are led by QB Brady Allen (Purdue commit, Class of ‘22).  Other players to watch for the Titans include Senior WR Rory Heltsley (6’3”, 195), Senior OL Cade Virgin (Class of ‘22), and Senior DE Ben Luttrell (All-PAC selection in 2020).

This is a rematch of a game played last season at Columbus North, where the ‘Dogs emerged with a convincing 48-6 win.  Can the Titans exact a measure of revenge?  Will the ‘Dogs head back to Columbus with a second consecutive victory over the Titans?
