Aaron Matio
Running Back
Class of 2016
Hamilton Southeastern
6’0” 193

Grade: B

Exposures: Hudl, in-person Game vs. Fishers (regular season)
HUDL FILM

Strengths: Carries the offense – was the one bright spot of the night for HSE against Fishers and has had excellent production throughout the season. Is primarily an inside runner, but has enough speed to bounce off tackle and get in space.   Can stick his foot in the ground and push vertical. Runs at a low pad level and consistently finishes forward. Exhibits good balance – most yards come after contact; breaks tackles and requires multiple defenders to bring down. Exhibits strong leg drive – can push a pile in short yardage. Good size and height for the position – has a strong frame, with a thick chest and legs, and should continue to get bigger over the next year. Big impact player on HSE’s offense.

Weaknesses: Isn’t very dynamic – no change-of-direction; runs north and south. Needs to develop breakaway speed – hits the hole with decisiveness and burst, but can be caught from behind at the second level.

Summary: Aaron’s impact on the offense is undeniable. He has been a highly-productive player for the Royals during a tough season. His balance, yards after contact, and strength between the tackles are his greatest strengths.
