The unbeaten Tigers defeated Adams Central 36–28 to capture their first ACAC championship since 1989.

Some victories mean more than another number in the win column.

For Bluffton, Friday night’s 36–28 victory over Adams Central was one of them.

The Tigers traveled to Monroe, knocked off a perennial northeast Indiana contender and secured their first Allen County Athletic Conference championship in 37 years.

The performance earned Bluffton the Indiana Preps Football Team of the Week honor for Week 8.

Bluffton improved to 8–0 with the victory, continuing an unbeaten season that has become one of the state’s more compelling stories.

But this wasn’t simply about maintaining a perfect record.

Adams Central has long been one of the conference’s measuring sticks, making Friday’s result especially significant. Bluffton didn’t just defeat a familiar opponent. The Tigers delivered the kind of victory that changes how a program’s season will be remembered.

The eight-point margin reflected a competitive matchup, with Bluffton finding enough offense to finish the job on the road.

And with the postseason approaching, the timing couldn’t be better.

The Tigers have spent the regular season building momentum. Now they have a conference championship to show for it and an opportunity to carry that confidence into October’s elimination games.

For a program that had waited since 1989 to celebrate an ACAC football title, Friday night represented something bigger than a single result.

It was a breakthrough nearly four decades in the making.
