Indiana Preps | Girls Flag Football / First Flag Series

The Indiana Preps First Flag 7-on-7 Tournament arrives Saturday at Wildcat Stadium on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion — and teams from across the state are making the trip for one of the most competitive single-day flag football events in Indiana this summer.

Gates open at 8:00 AM. First games kick off at 9:00 AM. The format is straightforward and unforgiving — three pool play games to establish seeding, followed by single elimination bracket play until one team is left standing. Every team is guaranteed meaningful reps in a college stadium environment with certified IHSAA officials on the field. This isn’t a casual summer tournament. The officiating, the setting, and the competition level reflect exactly what Indiana Preps is trying to build around this sport.

Awards will be presented to the tournament winners and runner-up. An overall MVP award goes to the top performer on the day — one player whose performance across the full tournament stands above the rest.

For fans, families, and coaches following along from home, live scores, stats, and game updates run through the Breakaway Data app — the official data partner of all Indiana Preps events. Download it before Saturday and follow every game in real time.

Admission is $10. Children 10 and under are free. Get your tickets here https://club.s34t.com/h3-athletix-sports-group/10056/tickets/9672/

Saturday’s tournament is part of a larger mission. Indiana Preps has been covering girls flag football in this state with a depth and consistency that no other outlet has matched — from the College Day Camp at Lawrence North, to the First Flag athlete series, to the All Indiana Weekend coming in July at the Colts Complex. Every event, every article, every player profile is part of the same effort: elevate the sport, cover the state, and make sure the athletes who are building Indiana girls flag football from the ground up get the recognition they’ve earned.

The First Flag series carries that name for a reason. These are the first players. The first teams. The first tournaments that will eventually be looked back on as the foundation of something much bigger. Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan is another page in that story.

Show up. The sport is worth watching.
