The recruiting board is tightening for some of the Hoosier State’s most coveted prospects.

Within a week’s span, three of Indiana’s premier football players either narrowed their lists or locked in official visits — a signal that the 2027 cycle is entering a more serious phase. From versatile offensive weapons to edge pressure specialists, national programs are circling the state with purpose.

Mason Oglesby Sets Top Six, Begins Official Visit Tour

Four-star athlete Mason Oglesby of New Palestine High School trimmed his recruitment to six programs: Purdue, USC, North Carolina, Kansas, Missouri and Indiana.

Oglesby, widely regarded as one of the top overall prospects in Indiana’s 2027 class, has drawn national attention for his positional flexibility. At approximately 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, he projects as a high-level athlete capable of impacting the game at multiple spots. Recruiting services consistently rank him among the top players in the state and inside the national Top 200 for his class.

He has already locked in official visits to Purdue, North Carolina and Indiana, giving the Boilermakers and Hoosiers early opportunities to make their case before summer evaluation periods intensify.

Jayce Brewer’s Anticipated Top Six

Shortly after Oglesby’s announcement, four-star edge rusher Jayce Brewer of Franklin Central High School revealed his own Top 6: Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky and Auburn.

Brewer has emerged as one of the Midwest’s most intriguing defensive prospects in 2027. Long-framed with verified size near 6-foot-5, he brings length and natural pass-rush traits that translate at the Power Four level. Recruiting outlets rank him among Indiana’s top defensive players and inside the upper tier nationally at the EDGE position.

As of now, Brewer has not publicly confirmed official visit dates, leaving his recruitment timeline open heading into spring and summer camp season.

Monshun Sales Locks In Four Officials

While the 2027 class is heating up, the state’s top 2027 prospect is already deep into decision season.

Four-star wide receiver Monshun Sales of Lawrence North High School has scheduled four official visits:

  • Indiana — April 24
  • Alabama — May 29
  • Ohio State — June 12
  • Miami — June 19

Sales, considered the Hoosier State’s premier 2027 recruit, has consistently been ranked among the top wide receivers in the Midwest by major recruiting services. His blend of verified speed, ball tracking and separation ability has made him a priority target for national powers.

With Indiana battling blueblood programs like Alabama and Ohio State, the upcoming official visit stretch will be pivotal. Each campus will have its opportunity to present a long-term vision before Sales moves closer to a decision.

The Bigger Picture

Three elite prospects. Multiple Power Four contenders. And Indiana programs squarely in the mix.

Oglesby’s versatility. Brewer’s edge presence. Sales’ explosive playmaking.

The next two months will shape not only their futures, but potentially the recruiting momentum within the state itself.
