Wane 15 announced this past weekend the 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention All-SAC teams. The coaches vote on the players named to the All-Conference list. As expected, the 2025 SAC Champion Bishop Dwenger Saints have the most players being recognized this season. They lead the way with eight all-conference selections between the first and second teams.

The Carroll Chargers were right behind with seven all-conference selections. And Northrop had six players represented on the all-SAC teams. If you haven’t been able to see the teams, here are the All-SAC lists.

3 Biggest Snubs From All-SAC Recognition

There’s some fantastic talent across the board here for all of the SAC teams. It makes total sense for the best programs to have the most players represented. What is always tough in these scenarios is separating potential from ability to play right now.

The Honorable Mention category provides a great way to highlight all of the rest of the great players in the area. Somehow, there’s always still someone who’s too talented left out. Here are my three biggest snubs for the All-SAC team.

Adam Kline, Carroll Chargers, Offensive Lineman, Junior

At 6’4, 255 pounds, Adam Kline is one of the premier offensive linemen in the area. It’s always tough to gauge offensive lineman and their talent at the high school talent, but seeing the Chargers in person you can see that Kline is a huge part of their success in their pass blocking. Just a week ago, he was recognized by Six Star Football as one of the top five recruits in the state of Indiana. In addition to that, he’s had visits to Miami (OH), Western Michigan, Austin Peay, Ohio, and others. He’s also gotten attention from the 2nd nationally ranked Indiana Hoosiers. Above it all, he’s only a junior, so he’s only getting started. Not receiving any recognition for All-SAC honors was a huge miss.

Carter Zent, Bishop Dwenger Saints, Safety, Junior

The junior safety leads the SAC Champion Saints in interceptions with three on the season, and was completely left off the list. He may be a smaller frame at 5’9, 150 pounds, but this kid is tough and a sneaky defender in the secondary. He is second in the SAC in INT’s, and 29th in Class 4A. He’s been a huge asset for Dwenger in their secondary and is a huge reason why they’re one of, if not the best, defenses in Class 4A. With so much attention being put on Ellinger, Henry and Shefferly on defense for Dwenger, Zent has flown under the radar. He didn’t get a lot of tackles this season (18), but leading the best team in the conference in interceptions should hold some weight. Keep an eye out for this young man.

Luke Hayworth, Concordia Cadets, Defensive End/Linebacker, Sophomore

It’s really tough to highlight players on a program that is struggling. That is the case with Luke Hayworth and the Concordia Cadets. Because of players like him, this program may not struggle for long. The 6’2, 200-plus-pound sophomore finished the season with 50 tackles, which led the team. He also added three sacks to go along with those tackles, which is 12th in the Summit-B. He’s taken a recent college visit to Wheaton College and there will be many more to come. He is a player that can play some defensive end and outside linebacker as well. In last week’s loss to Homestead, he finished with 8 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 TFL. He’s the real deal and he doesn’t graduate until 2028. This will be a name to know going into next season because he was snubbed for some recognition this season.
