In a historic moment for high school sports in Indiana, Penn High School etched its name into the record books as the first-ever Indiana High School Girls Flag Football State Champions, capping off an undefeated 13-0 season with a dominant 35-12 victory over Lawrence North at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield.

Led by Head Coach Jerimiah Maggart, the Kingsmen established themselves as a powerhouse throughout the season — averaging over 42 points per game while allowing just four points per contest on defense. Their playoff run included decisive wins over Terre Haute South, Fort Wayne Snider, and Lawrence North en route to the title.

Penn’s remarkable season will be recognized on a big stage, as the team is set to be honored at halftime of the Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans game on October 26.

Dawson Dominates: Indiana Preps Player of the Game

In the championship matchup, Alivia Dawson delivered one of the most impressive performances of the postseason — and perhaps the entire year. The standout defender recorded five interceptions, repeatedly shutting down the opposing offense and swinging momentum in Penn’s favor. Her performance earned her the Indiana Preps Player of the Game honors, capping off an incredible night that sealed Penn’s place in history.
