One squad in the state remains unbeaten through 31 games, Carroll out of Fort Wayne. The Chargers have been perfect so far this season, only a single set on their way to 31-0. The Chargers find themself ranked in the top 10 in the entire country, sitting at 6th. Only two other teams in the top 50 according to MaxPreps have not lost a match, putting Carroll in some elite company.
Over the weekend, the Chargers played Lake Central and McCutcheon, holding each of them to under 20 points for every set, with the most that was scored being 20, and as few as 13.
The Chargers have great depth with 7 seniors and a core that won 4A state last season. The Middles have been dominant so far for the Chargers, with the defense being a key in the winning machine.
The last few squads that went undefeated and won state, including HSE and Roncalli, both dropped sets in their first 27 games en route to a title.
Carroll is looking to win sectional #5 for the 16th straight year and make another deep run in the playoffs. Last year was the first time the Chargers made it out of regionals in 15 years, and they are looking to build on that success again this year
In 2023, when HSE went undefeated and won state, 33-0, it dropped a pair of sets in the middle of the season. Last Year, when Roncalli won 3A they dropped 5 sets on the way.
Carroll is looking to become the 19th team to go undefeated and win the state title. That takes into account all levels over all time. They also looked to go back to back for the 1st time since HSE in 2022 and 2023 at the 4A level.
Carroll finished out the season with a hard fought win vs Roncalli.

Senior Bailey Sinish set a school record for kills at 1556 at counting, and she is committed to IU Indy in the fall.
Carroll has three tough tests left on their schedule, which are Angola, Fishers, and 3A State champ Roncalli.
If the Chargers run the table, it will be one of the best seasons in Indiana History and puts Carroll right up there with the national powers.
