For the 1st time in program history, Harrison host an Indy area school for back-to-back weeks. This week Roncalli rolls into Lafayette to try to continue the success that fellow Indy team Bishop Chatard had last week.

When: 7:00 PM – 10/10

Where: Rickard Field – Harrison High School

Tale of the tape, Roncalli: The Royals come in with a 4-3 record after dropping a close one last to LaSalle of Ohio. Before that loss, however, the Royals were rolling with 3 straight 20+ points wins over Columbus North, Guerin Catholic, and Brebeuf Jesuit. Roncalli has been stingy with the amount of points they have given up all season, boasting a 15.9 points allowed mark. In the week 7 match vs LaSalle, the Royals weren’t able to get a lot rolling on the ground with only 26 yards all night, the air attack was better however, as senior Colin Ash threw for 187 with 2 TD’s and 2 picks. Luke Roeder caught both TDs for the Royals. The defense also forced an INT in the loss. The Royals run a power pistol offense, which features a lot of option looks, and occasionally they shift into a 2×2 shotgun set. Roncalli lives and dies by the run, so that will be interesting to see if they can crack the Raider defense.

Tale of the tape Harrison: The Raiders have a 3-4 record heading into the meeting with the Royals. Harrison in the negative for point differential on the season, giving up nearly 4.5 more than they score. In the last 4 games, Harrison is 1-3 with the lone win coming vs McCutcheon (2-5). In the three losses, they have lost all of them by 2 touchdowns or more. Last week vs Chatard, the Raiders struggled to get much going outside of a pair of explosive plays that went for 80 and 54 yards respectively. 220 yards if you don’t count the big plays. Outside of the one breakaway rush, the Raiders ran it at 3 yards a carry clip. Decent but not good enough when the defense can’t get off the field. If Harrison can get the option working early this week they have a decent chance to hang with the Royals.
