In the closest race of the season so far, with over 6,000 votes cast, Columbus North quarterback Asher Ratliff edged out Centerville’s Jace Hollendonner by just 21 votes to claim Indiana Preps Week 3 Player of the Week honors. Ratliff earned 29.7% of the vote, narrowly holding off Hollendonner’s 26.5%, while Plainfield’s Bryce Sebanc finished close behind at 21.8%.
It was Ratliff’s remarkable seven-touchdown performance that carried him to the top spot. The senior signal caller set a single-game school record with six touchdown passes and added another score on the ground to lead the Bull Dogs to a dominant victory over Southport. Ratliff finished the night completing 16 of 22 passes for 322 yards, continuing a blistering start to the season.
The award-worthy performance came just a week after Ratliff torched rival Columbus East for 395 yards passing in another blowout win. His play has fueled Columbus North’s hot 3-0 start and solidified him as one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the state.
