With April wrapping up and May on the horizon, a crucial turning point in the recruiting calendar is here—especially for Class of 2026 athletes looking to make their mark and Class of 2027 prospects aiming to get on college radars.
The Indiana College Days officially begin tomorrow in Lafayette, signaling the start of a pivotal stretch in the recruiting process for high school football players across the state.
What Are College Days?
College Days is a series of regional one-day showcases organized and led by Cathedral High School’s Adam Barth. These events are designed to bring college coaches directly to the athletes. High schools across Indiana host workouts—typically lasting about an hour—while coaches bounce from stop to stop, evaluating prospects in live settings.
During these visits, high school coaches provide prospect sheets containing player information—academics, measurables, and contact details—helping streamline the evaluation process. While similar events in states like Ohio might pack a dozen school visits into one day, Indiana’s format is more spaced out. This gives coaches more time to observe players, have conversations, and network with fellow coaches—sometimes even allowing for a quick meal before moving on to the next stop.
Why It Matters
For many student-athletes, this is the first chance to be evaluated by college coaches in person. This is where recruiting buzz can begin—or continue to build. And it’s free exposure, driven by high school coaches who work tirelessly behind the scenes to open doors for their players.
If you’re a player, the best way to show appreciation? Show up. Be locked in. Perform.
Be at school, be on time, and be in shape. This is the first step in a critical journey that continues into June—a month where scholarship offers are earned, camp invites are handed out, and momentum can skyrocket.
For the Class of 2026, the clock is ticking. The foundation you lay during these College Days can fuel everything to come this summer. And as always, the cream will rise to the top.
