The Indiana Collective 7v7 program turned heads at the prestigious Pylon tournament in Dallas, Texas, finishing pool play with a strong 5-1 combined record across its 15U and 18U squads.
15U Dominates on Day 1
The 15U team went undefeated at 3-0, earning a likely No. 3 seed heading into Sunday’s bracket play. Leading the charge was Roman Youngs, a dynamic 2029 wide receiver who hauled in six touchdowns and earned Day 1 MVP honors for his explosive playmaking.
Defensively, Tim Onghetich of Cathedral High School made his presence felt with timely interceptions and key pass breakups, locking down opposing receivers. Quarterback Chase Grove (North Central) showed poise and control, making accurate throws while taking care of the football.
18U Squad Stays Hot
The 18U group went 2-1 in pool play and is projected to land a top-5 seed heading into bracket competition. Logan Barnes (Marion) and Deacon King (Westfield) were the standouts on the defensive side, with King continuing his streak of snagging at least one interception per outing.
Jaidon VanPelt (Carroll) emerged as a reliable target at wide receiver and lent his athleticism to the defensive side as well, making impact plays on both ends of the field. Maalik Moore (Fort Wayne North Side), a long, rangy athlete, was another two-way standout, contributing as a playmaker in space and showcasing his versatility.
Channing Gick flashed as another bright spot on day one, adding depth to the team’s performance. On offense, Jacob Davis (New Palestine) continues to prove why he’s one of the most underrated quarterbacks in Indiana’s 2026 class, engineering explosive drives and keeping the offense in rhythm.
Both squads are set to make a serious run in bracket play on Sunday, as Indiana Collective aims to bring more hardware back home.
