Special Teams P/K of the Year

Elijah Slibeck, Warren Central

Slibeck was a key contributor to a Warrior team that captured the Sectional 7 title. He went 25 of 26 on extra points, and nailed four field goals with a long of 42 yards. Slibeck is is uncommitted but holds several power five offers.

Offensive Player of the Year

Luke Hansen, Roncalli

Hansen shattered records for the Rebels, rushing his way into the record books with an outstanding senior season. He led the state in rushing with 3,080 yards and hit paydirt 37 times. Roncalli utilized his talents on both sides of the ball, as he also tallied 6 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Hansen has received several FCS offers and a preferred walk-on from Ball State.

Defensive Player of the Year

Joshua Mickens, Lawrence Central

Mickens was the cornerstone of the Bears team that has increased their win total every year. His 74 tackles, 6.5 sacks to go along with 20.5 tackles for loss made for a big senior season. Mickens signed his letter of intent in December to play at Ohio State University.

Indiana Preps Player of the Year

Drayk Bowen, Andrean

The two-way standout led his 59rs team to back-to-back state championship appearances, capturing the title during his junior season. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior and also honored as the Butkus Award winner as the nation’s best linebacker for his senior season. Bowen tallied 144 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 4 caused fumbles and 2 interceptions for the class 2A runner-up. On offense, he rushed for 1,784 yards and 26 touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 228 yards and also scored three receiving touchdowns. Bowen signed his letter of intent in December to play at Notre Dame.
