This week’s voting participation reached its highest of the season with nearly 7,200 votes tallied for the Indiana Minority Coaches Association Week 3 Player of the Week. There were several great performances that have taken place over the weekend. Stat columns were filled with touchdowns, interceptions and big plays on special teams. With 15.4% of the votes the Fan’s Choice for the Indiana MCA Week 3 Player of the Week is Rock Creek Academy’s Kendrick Payton.

Payton’s play on both sides of the ball led the Rock Creek Academy Lions to the school’s first win in 12 tries, ending an 11-game losing streak. The Lions held on to win 28-26 in a tough one with the Indiana School of the Deaf. On offense, Payton rushed for 145-yards on 16-carries and 2-rushing touchdowns with a successful 2-point conversion. The senior linebacker was all over the field making plays for the Lions’ defense. Payton added 12-tackles, 2-sacks and 2-interceptions for his stellar performance on the night.
The next most vote getter was Central Noble’s running back Will Hoover with 14.3% of the votes. Hoover rushed for 218-yards on 31 carries and reached the endzone 5 times.
