Kokomo overcame a 21 point deficit to Zionsville, to win their second regional title in three years. Their opponent in semi-state is the Michigan City Wolves, who’ve never been to a semi-state title game, find themselves one game away from the 5A state championship.

Columbus East continues dominance, by dismantling the Terre Haute Patriots defense in a 49-18 victory. Next up for the Olympians are arch nemesis Cathedral. The Irish are responsible for sending East packing in four semi-state appearances. The two teams have only met four times, Cathedral has never lost to East.

A tad bit of deja vu may be swirling around the halls of Carmel high school. In 2016, Carmel overcame a 5-4 regular season record to go on to win the 6A state championship. Here we are again. Carmel sitting with a 5-4 regular season record, head to the northern part of the 6A bracket and win three straight games, positioning themselves one victory away from an opportunity to defend their 2016 state championship. The Hounds will face a familiar foe in Penn in the semi-state game. Carmel beat the Kingsmen 21-10 in last year’s semi-state game on their way to winning their 8th state championship.
