Preps2Prospects is set to host their first annual Senior Showcase on Monday, January 21 (MLK Day) at the new SPARTA Complex in Fishers,IN. The showcase is set up to allow uncommitted seniors to workout in front of college coaches. Several Division II, III and NAIA programs are expected to attend the event. There will be no type of testing or stopwatches to comply with NCAA. The campers will be broken into position groups. The OL/DL/TE group will start the event. Followed by QB/RB/LB group and the WR/DB group will conclude the workout period. Directly after each session, players will have the opportunity to interact with coaches. Let’s take a look at some of the prospects highlighted at this showcase.

OFFENSE

The quarterback group is expected to be the strongest.
Castle (IN) QB Mitch Gilles (6’2 205) and Heritage Christian (IN) QB Matt Hunt (5’11 195) headline the quarterback position. Hunt and Gilles accounted for over 85 passing touchdowns between the two QBs. Dual threat QB Muncie Southside (IN) Timber Hatfield is ready to take his athletic ability to the next level. The Muncie Southside QB accounted for 1,850 yards passing and rushed for another 807 yards. Promising quarterbacks Corydon (IN) Chase Burton and Elkhart Central (IN) Nick Faus have confirmed attending. Brownsburg (IN) Ian Good is the ultra competitor and is ready to prove he’s college ready. Also expected to attend is Eastern’s (KY) Cody Wolfe.

The runningback position is also slated to be a strong group with Terre Haute North (IN) Brother Skank, Evansville Reitz (IN) Keandre Vaugn, Columbus North (IN) Jamaal Halliburton and Muncie Southside (IN) McKenzee Nash leading the way. Hunters Lane (TN) Devonta Jones is making the trip to compete in this strong group.

The offensive line group is led by Evansville Harrison (IN) Reed Dugan (6’5 260). Dugan has received mid level division 1 attention. Decatur Central’s (IN) TJ Kilbourne is also ready to improve his recruiting. South Bend Washington (IN) Dustin Dennig is expected to attend and possibly Warren Central (IN) Jonathan “Bama” Powell.

Also attending Decatur Central (TE) Marcellus Edwards a versatile athlete who could possibly have an offer with intentions to commit prior to the showcase. Key prospects rounding out the offensive side are Carmel (IN) WR Austin Pfenninger, Zionsville (IN) WR John Naumcheff and Hunters Lane (TN) WR Howard Cliffe.

DEFENSE
Columbus North (IN) Shaquille Ash (5’11 215) led class 5A in tackles 2 years in a row. Many scouts believe Ash played out of position and could easily play division 1 safety. The linebacker group is pretty solid with Fishers (IN) Liam Duddy, Ft Wayne Snider (IN) OLB Devontay Reese, Lawrence Central (IN) Marcus Tipton in the mix. Triton Central (IN) LB Jordan Thurman is expected to attend. The defensive line group is led by pass rushers Decatur Central (IN) Angelo Hayes and Eastern (KY) Daevonte Dawson. Add line of scrimmage neutralizers Brownsburg (IN) Quintin Stubbs, Columbus North (IN) Solomon Knight to the defensive line group.
Defensive back group features Terre Haute North (IN) Vasco Billberry, South Bend Adams (IN) Gavin Miller, Lawrence Central (IN) Marcus Goodner. Safeties Ft. Wayne Snider (IN) Nick Reese and North Central (IN) Darrell Hogue have their mind set on leaving with a few offers. Ball hawking safety and dangerous kick returner Columbus North (IN)Taylor Summa is a possible attendee.
Former St. Louis Ram RB Arlen Harris and owner of RunIT Performance in Missouri will be bringing a group of athletes to attend. Also expect athletes from Midwest’s top performance programs like Fort Wayne’s AWP Sports & Chicago’s Core6 Athletes to attend.
