This Memorial Day weekend at Avondale High School in Auburn Hills, Michigan the folks at Midwest Elite hosted their annual 7on7 passing tournament with this year’s tournament setting the stage as the qualifier for IMG Madden 7on7 National Championship in Florida. The tournament fielded 19 teams from across the Midwest. AWP Sports of Fort Wayne, Indiana made the trek to prove that they belong on the field with best. After going 3-1 on day one, AWP Sports set the tone on day 2 by knocking off tournament favorite Max Ex in a thriller. Their mission wasn’t complete until the matchup vs Core 6 of Chicago, IL & their top prospect WR Laquon Treadwell in the finals. Big plays by AWP & “Overall MVP” WR Jared Murphy led the AWP team to their first championship this 7on7 season beating Core 6. The tournament was highlighted by several top prospects you read or hear about all the time, that includes OLB Jaylon Smith, WR Laquon Treadwell, QB Shane Morris & LB Reggie Spearman. AWP Sports 7on7 team has other players you should start paying attention to. With the win, AWP Sports has the automatic bid to play at the IMG 7on7 National Championship in Florida.
