Indiana Preps | On The Line — IHSAA Girls Golf State Finals

Taylor Snively did not leave much room for drama.

The Zionsville junior opened the IHSAA state finals with a 67, came back with a 71 and finished at 6-under 138 to win her third consecutive individual state championship — before ever reaching her senior year. At the same time, Zionsville completed its own three-peat, posting rounds of 293 and 296 for a two-day total of 589, finishing 26 shots ahead of Carmel and closing a perfect season with another championship banner.

The numbers put both Snively and Zionsville in rare territory. She is 3-for-3 at the state finals. Won as a freshman. Repeated as a sophomore. Made it three straight in 2026. Zionsville has matched her run, winning the team title in each of those seasons.

That is the present.

The next part of the leaderboard says plenty about the future.

Mt. Vernon sophomore Ressie Lemmon finished second at 144, six shots behind Snively. Carmel sophomore Maya Fujisawa Keuling was one shot back at 145 after closing with a 70, while teammate Karis Reid finished fourth at 148.

Then came a group at 149 loaded with youth.

Lake Central freshman Katelyn Benda. Valparaiso sophomore Kennedy Gutierrez. Zionsville sophomore Olivia Patton. All three tied for fifth.

Westfield sophomore Farrah Camp placed 10th. Warsaw sophomore Anya Puthucode was 11th. Castle freshman Layna Patel finished tied for 15th after already winning a regional title earlier in the postseason.

That is a lot of underclassmen near the top of the state leaderboard. And several of them are not arriving for the first time.

Lemmon was already a top-10 finisher as a freshman last year. Fujisawa Keuling placed third in 2025 and added the Indiana Girls State Junior Championship this summer. Gutierrez has now finished tied for fifth in consecutive state finals. Patton moved from 12th as a freshman into the top five as a sophomore.

Benda may be the newest name in that group, but she did not arrive quietly. The Lake Central freshman won sectional medalist honors, helped the Indians win a regional championship and went 73-76 at state in her first finals appearance.

The state final did not just give Indiana another Snively-Zionsville championship. It showed how much high-end talent is positioned to return.

Snively gets another year. So do Lemmon, Fujisawa Keuling, Reid, Gutierrez, Patton, Camp and Puthucode. Benda and Patel have three.

That gives Indiana girls golf something it does not always get from a state championship weekend — a leaderboard that already looks like next year’s preseason watch list.

Snively owns the top spot now. The chase behind her is getting younger. And deeper.

That may be the more interesting story heading into 2027.
