With the finalist list officially down to five, the spotlight is firmly on Knox’s Myles McLaughlin — and for good reason. The Gatorade Player of the Year and MaxPreps Player of the Year has drawn national attention all season long, putting together one of the most decorated campaigns in recent Indiana high school football history.

That said, earning a spot as a finalist is no small feat. Jerquaden Guilford, Jett Goldsberry, Jerimy Finch Jr., and Kasmir Hicks each delivered elite seasons and represent the very best of Hoosier football. This year’s class is loaded with talent — and every one of these athletes deserves recognition on this stage.

Is this truly McLaughlin’s award to lose? Or will one of the state’s other stars make the final push?
