The Chargers opened up the season on 8/20 with a 3-0 win vs the Knights of East Noble. Carroll struck early and often vs the Knights, holding them to 14,16, and 10 throughout the night. Sophomore Libero Cala Haffner led the team with three aces on the evening. Senior Middle Hitter Bailey Sinish led the offense with 16 kills. A solid performance up the middle led to four total blocks for the Chargers.

Carroll turns to the future with eyes on Dekalb (8/21) and the Penn tournament over the weekend.

Looking further into the future for this talented squad, the schedule stiffens up for the Chargers as statewide talent comes to play first with the Homestead Spartans under the lights at Charger Stadium. Other tests on the schedule include state runner-up Yorktown, known powerhouse HSE, a very talented Bellmont team in 3A, Warsaw, Noblesville, Angola, Fishers, and 3A State champ Roncalli.

A step up in difficulty from the Chargers this season, but they are well prepared to handle the challenge. After only losing senior Chloe Herschberger, the team returns every starting member from the state title run a year ago, this time posting some big commits.

Bailey Sinish (SR) is committed to IU Indy

Lola Sasse (SR) is committed to Rollins

Sophia Gisslen (SR) is committed to Quinnipiac University

Sara Stegall (JR) is committed to Notre Dame

Elli Oskey (JR) is committed to Loyola Chicago

Cala Haffner (SO) played with the U19 national team this summer, landing her as one of the top players in the state.

Lots of talent on display for Coach Pandy Sinish’s team this season, and she is looking to carry last year’s success into a continuous streak of winning at Carroll.
