For the third consecutive season, Cascade quarterback Brady Trebley finds himself back in familiar territory. The Cascade Cadets have advanced to the second round of the sectional tournament, where they’re set to take on Tri-West on Friday night. But this year, something feels different.
Cascade is riding high on a 10-0 start, marking the best season in program history.
“This game will be our biggest test yet and a chance to break the streak,” Trebley told Indiana Preps. “We’ve worked all season and offseason to get here, but we’re not satisfied with what we’ve accomplished so far. This team is built to win championships, and we don’t want to let anyone down.”
The undefeated Cadets have been dominant on both sides of the ball. Offensively, they’re averaging over 47 points per game, while their defense has been allowing just 10 points per game. Cascade has held six teams to 14 points or less and achieved three shutouts this season—a testament to the hard work and preparation Trebley and his teammates have invested.
“This success has been building for a while,” Trebley explained. “I’m not surprised at all. We’ve been putting together small victories over the years, and it’s all clicked this season. Most of our key players have multiple seasons of experience, and that blend of experience and talent is finally paying off.”
However, history looms large. Cascade last defeated Tri-West in 2006, and the Bruins hold a 19-3 edge in the series. Despite a 6-4 record, Tri-West poses a serious challenge, riding a four-game winning streak and coming off a dominant 55-16 victory over Indianapolis Washington in the sectional opener. Over the past four games, the Bruins have allowed just 23 points, with two shutouts.
While the pressure of maintaining an undefeated season is high, Trebley says the team is keeping a cool, focused mindset.
“I don’t think the pressure is getting to us,” he said. “We’re taking it one game at a time, focusing solely on our current opponent. We’re willing to put in the work each week to reach our goals.”
As the Cadets prepare for what could be their biggest game yet, Friday night’s matchup promises to be a clash of wills, with history, pride, and a perfect season on the line.
