A highly anticipated showdown is set for Friday evening on the Eastside of Indianapolis, as the Cathedral Irish travel to face Warren Central in a top 10 matchup. This will be the first meeting between the two powerhouse programs since 2014. Cathedral brings an impressive 33 points per game average into this contest, while Warren Central boasts a defense that allows just 8 points per game.

Both teams are legitimate contenders for a run to Lucas Oil Stadium on Thanksgiving weekend, making this game even more intriguing.

Leading the way for the Warriors are Louisiana State recruit Damien Shanklin, Louisville commit Tyrone Burrus Jr and rising prospect in junior defensive lineman Jerimy Finch Jr., who averages 6.4 tackles per game. He will be key in trying to contain a potent Irish offense that can light up the scoreboard. For Cathedral, sophomore running back Xavier Dangerfield is averaging over 128 rushing yards per game, and junior quarterback Cameron Koers has already amassed 1,177 passing yards. The balanced attack of the Irish will undoubtedly pose a significant challenge for the stout Warrior defense.

This matchup could very well be a preview of the Class 6A south semi-state in the near future. The question remains: Will coaches Bill Peebles and Mike Kirschner go all out in this regular-season game, or will they hold back as they prepare for the postseason?

Get ready for a classic battle under the lights at Warren Central on Friday night!
