For game #2 of the Marion County Tournament Semifinals, Ben Davis (11-2) matched up against Pike (9-1). Ben Davis has been dominant down the stretch after a slow start at the beginning of the season. The credit for this turnaround goes to K.J. Windham has played as well as any other athlete in the state of Indiana! Pike’s one loss of the season happened against Ben Davis suffering a 63-60 blow. Since then, the Red Devils have gone undefeated. Senior Guard and USF commit, Ryan Conwell has led the way for Pike averaging over 20 points per game.
Unfortunately, we never endured a close basketball game. Ben Davis came off the bench aggressive and quick. Ben Davis outscored Pike 31-9 through the first quarter. Zane Doughty played hard in the paint while K.J. Windham dominated the outside. The second quarter was no different as Ben Davis held a lead of 32 points through one half. In the third quarter, Pike went shot-for-shot with Ben Davis to the credit of Donte Porch and Camron Casky. With a 62-31 lead in Ben Davis’s favor, the game operated with a running clock through the fourth quarter. Both teams sent out backups for much of the 4th quarter. Ben Davis defeated Pike 69-42 which earned them a slot to play North Central in the Marion County Championship!
