This week’s SWIN Game of the Week will bring Indiana Preps back to Castle High School, and John Lidy Field, as the Castle Knights (5-1, 5A # 8 – Coaches, # 8 – AP) will host the Evansville Central Bears (7-0, 4A # 3 – Coaches, # 2 – AP) in a game with major SIAC Championship implications.  With a win, Central would clinch an outright SIAC Championship.  Castle will look to knock off the Bears and remain in the running for the conference title.

Points figure to be hard to come by in this one, as these two defenses have combined to allow 95 points in 13 games (Central: 54 – in seven games; Castle: 41 – in six games).  Heading into this game, the biggest questions to be answered, in my opinion, are these: How will the Knights’ defense fare against what has been an explosive Central offensive attack?  Also: Can the Knights’ offense make an impact against a stout Central defense?

While there are several fantastic in-game matchups to watch for, each team has outstanding Senior leaders to anchor their respective defenses: Jacob Boberg for Central (60 tackles on the season), and Nyles Sutton for Castle (64 tackles on the season).

I have had a chance to see each team twice live to this point, and each team is a legitimate threat to make a deep run in the upcoming State Tournament in their respective classes.  This game will definitely prepare each team for that time.  First things first, though, as those in attendance will be treated to what promises to be a fantastic game.
