If you were lucky enough to be in attendance for the North Side at Carroll football game, you were in for an offensive treat! Over 1,100 yards of total offense and 17 touchdowns scored. Highlighting the game was the performance by the two quarterbacks. Carroll junior signal caller Jeff Becker was on fire all night, with his arm and his legs. Becker accounted for 9 touchdowns, eight of those through the air. He went 21 for 31, and 460 yards in their impressive 76-48 win over North Side. In a losing effort, North Side’s Duce Taylor was 29 of 45 with 398 yards passing and 6 touchdowns. The Carroll Chargers are now 3-0 and will be making a move in our Power 25 rankings this week.

The Center Grove Trojans made their biggest statement win of the year, avenging their two losses to rival Carmel in 2019, with a dominating performance on Friday night. The Trojans whooped up on the Greyhounds in all facets of the game. The Trojans’ defense has allowed only14 points in 3 games, shutting out Warren Central (14-0) and Carmel (42-0) respectively. Center Grove is a force to be reckoned with.

The biggest test of the year thus for for the newly formed Elkhart High Lions football team was aced on Friday night. The Columbus East Olympians welcomed the Lions in a Class 6A showdown. The Lions were too much for the host. There was a clear difference in the talent pool between the two programs. The Lions were too fast, too big and too physical for the Olympians in earning the 52-28 win.

Don’t look now, the North Central Panthers and Lawrence North Wildcats are both undefeated sitting at 3-0 and tied for first in the MIC.
