The Cougars of Bloomington North defeated rival South Panthers in a 38-27 thriller. Coach Scott Bless and the Cougars have come up on the losing end of this rivalry game 8 straight times.
The Bloomington North Cougars (3-1) received a number 9 ranking in this week’s IFCA Class 5A poll. This team already eclipsed last year’s win total and are looking to tally a few more wins this season. A three-point loss in overtime against Terre Haute South is the only blemish on this team’s record. Not too shabby for a team that hasn’t been above .500 in the win column since 2013. Ironically the same year, the Cougars knocked off the South Panthers twice. The Cougars should be favored to win at least the next four games, prior to a week 8 showdown between the Bless brothers and Columbus North.
