WEEK 1: Lafayette Jefferson outlasts West Lafayette in a 77-66 shootout. West Lafayette quarterback Kyle Adams was sensational in defeat, putting up huge numbers to start his campaign for Indiana Preps Player of the Year. Adams went 45-61, 554 yards, 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Lafayette Jefferson senior running back Marquis Munoz paced the Bronchos with 202 yards rushing and six total touchdowns in victory.
Quarterback Brady Allen throws six touchdowns in Gibson Southern’s season opener, a 56-7 win over Forest Park. Allen had one incompletion in 14 attempts with zero interceptions.
In the final Mangy Lion game, Elkhart Central beat Elkhart Memorial 41-21. Senior running back Mark Brownlee came up big rushing for 216 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Batesville linebacker Brayden Linkel racked up 19 tackles in the season opener.
Brebeuf Jesuit linebacker Jay Higgins posted 16 tackles proving to be one of the best at his position in the Midwest.
