Game Of The Week
#25 FW Snider (4-1) at FW Wayne (4-1)
Game Preview: Tyler Sellhorn
Snider leads the all-time series with Wayne 40-5.
Wayne is 0-3 vs Snider under Coach Moore (2017 27-0, 2016 54-25, and 2015 49-0)
Under Coach Tippmann, Snider is 11-1 against Wayne.
Wayne most recently beat Snider in 2014 when Wayne, Snider and FW Luers split the SAC crown after going 1-1 against each other.
Since losing to Carroll in week 2, Snider has won the following 3 games 115-14
Even though both teams are 4-1, Snider still controls its destiny in it’s bid to retain the SAC Victory Bell.
If Snider were to win out, they would be back to back to back SAC champions since they would bold the head to head over FW Dwenger in that scenario.
If Wayne were to win out, Wayne would need two of FW Luers, Snider and Northrop to defeat FW Dwenger since FW Dwenger holds the head to head tiebreaker from Wayne’s week 1 loss to the Saints.
Outlook: Indiana Preps
Snider blanked Wayne 27-0 in last season’s matchup. The difference this year will be FW Wayne and Ohio State recruit Craig Young. He has eight touchdowns receiving and added another one on the ground in five games as Coach Moore tries to give the playmaker the ball anyway he can.
Snider’s defense may be the difference in this one. The Panther’s have not given up more than 14 points in a single game. Only one team has reached that total and Snider’s defense shutout South Side two week’s ago. Wayne’s quarterback Brandan Young has five interceptions in five games. The Panther’s have eleven sacks in just as many games. The defensive pressure on Young, could disrupt the General’s offensive connection between Young and his receivers. Junior defensive back Jayshawn Underwood has three interceptions.
