Indianapolis North Central high defensive back DJ Johnson announced his pledge to the Hawkeyes via twitter on Tuesday. It is also his mother’s birthday. Johnson the no.1 ranked defensive back in the 2018 class for Indiana Preps is the third player from the state to commit to Iowa. He also joins class of 2019 defensive back Larry Tracy as Hawkeye pledges. Notre Dame was the runner-up in Johnson’s decision.
“They were a school who believed in my talent from the beginning and believed that I could help program. And I believe that they can help me reach my goals” said Johnson.
