Pound for pound, Warren Central senior running back Jaylen Coe is one of the best football players in the state. Standing slightly over 5’4, some would think it’d be impossible for someone of his stature to see the field at a powerhouse like Warren Central. Not only does he play, but he is the star for the highly ranked Warriors.
As expected, college coaches are overlooking him (literally) despite his numbers on the field. The senior has over 2000 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns. He does it all for the Warriors, taking handoffs, splitting out wide and returning kicks.
However, several division three programs are showing interest. Coe will head up to D3 power Mount Union on Saturday to take in a game. Coe doesn’t expect to hear from FBS schools, nor does he care at this point. He’s solely focused on helping his team make a return trip to Lucas Oil. “I’m just blessed to be playing at a high level and receiving recognition” said Coe.
