Camp and combine season is here. A chance for college hopefuls to start making a name for themselves. A few IN Preps are off to a good start. Justin Tranquill of Fort Wayne Carroll high school has secured a couple MVP awards at the Core 6 Showcase in Chicago and Cincinnati. Avon defensive end Joe Belden had a good day at the Core 6 Showcase in Cincinnati taking home MVP for Lineman. Grant Weatherford of Hamilton Heights may have jumpstart his recruitment with an outstanding performance at the Core 6 Showcase in Cincinnati.

The following day several hundred area talented preps participated in the Best of the Midwest Combine. Decatur Central quarterback Tommy Stevens took home MVP for his position. Hamilton Southeastern tight end Kyle Schrank won the TE MVP award.
