When INPrep50 S/LB Drue Tranquill (Fort Wayne Carroll High School) made the decision to commit to Purdue, there was a possibility Notre Dame would still extend an offer. On Friday, Notre Dame threw in its hat and offered the 3-star prospect. Now Purdue must roll up its sleeves and go to battle with Notre Dame to secure Tranquill’s earlier commitment.

The highly touted defensive prospect told IndianaPreps that he’s honored by the Notre Dame offer and plans to give them an honest look. He also plans to make a visit to South Bend but a date hasn’t been set. So where does his commitment stand with Purdue. Although he’s honored, Tranquill is committed to Purdue. “Purdue is the best fit as of now, but I’m going to explore Notre Dame as well as any other offer. Is another school a better fit? I don’t know… Maybe. Purdue is that school right now though.” Tranquill said.

This recruiting battle is definitely going to get interesting. Analyst at 247Sports have already begin to switch their Crystal Ball predictions in favor of the Irish. Drue Tranquill is the No. 10 ranked prospect in Indiana according to our INPrep50 rankings.
